We decided to contact a moving storage business and have a transportable box delivered for the belongings we needed to store. We slowly packed up boxes and furniture into the storage box before the contractors started the heavy work. We had it picked up and placed in one of those moving storage facilities. It was super easy and we had a key to access the contents whenever we needed. The place was clean and air conditioned.
